property is set in the garden of a late 18th- or early 19th-century olive oil
mill. Structurally the building is sound, but there are no services, so it needs
complete renovation in order to be made habitable.
The building has some nice features, such as the old doors leading to the garden
and two large openings, presently bricked in, which can be re-opened. The garden
setting is also very picturesque, with sweeping views of the valley and hills.
Valloria is an exquisitely preserved Ligurian village in the hinterland of Imperia Porto Maurizio and Dolcedo, set in the midst of the olive groves that cover the hills on either side of this beautiful valley. The altitude is approximately 450 m. The village is well-known for its painted doors, executed by numerous famous artists. There’s a good restaurant and a bar, and there are lots of ‘sagre’ and festas in summer. The mill complex, of which the hayloft forms a part, is located on the edge of the village, within walking distance of the centre. The main building, which is completely separate from the hayloft, is shared by two other owners.
Valloria is a 20-minute drive from Porto Maurizio on the coast, and 10 minutes’ drive from the nearest town, Dolcedo. It takes a bit less than 90 minutes to get to either Genova or Nice international airports, and even less to the casinos of Monte Carlo.
The property itself is located on a quiet road, on the edge of the village, so parking is close by.
