Diano Marina: A shore of intense beauty, sandy beaches surrounded by a vegetation in between the exotic and the Mediterranean, palm trees, agaves, maritime pines, olive trees, citrus orchards, this is the gulf of Diano, a large inlet between cape Berta and cape Cervo. Diano Marina is its barycenter, with its hotel structures, the important bathing establishments and well patronized nightclubs.
The Costa and Chiesa villages give life to the municipality of Diano Arentino, known for its seventeenth century rural oratories. In the midst of a rich vegetation, ancient olive groves and woods, scenic sights open up over Diano's valleys. A privileged watch point is the chapel of San Carlo, nowadays abandoned. At Chiesa, the squat parish church of Santa Margherita, with its medieval cut-off bell tower, replaced by a seventeenth century style cusp, watches over the village. In the parish church, in its apse of Renaissance workmanship, three small domes stand out on an octagonal tabernacle. The internal twin columns work as a frame to valuable painting works. Once you reach Evigno, the highest valley town (in its parish church, to be found a sixteenth century triptych by Raffaele and Giulio De Rossi), then you must continue to the top of Peak or mount Torre, from where there is a beautiful view over the entire valley as far as the sea.
